Rocky Mountain 2011 Vertex 70 RSL

The evolution of Rocky Mountain’s signature race hardtail, Vertex RSL has already been piloted to World Cup victories by Geoff Kabush and Marie-Helene Premont. Vertex RSL features Rocky Mountain’s proven race geometry in a super light and stiff package. New for this year is our Vertex alloy frame which features a completely redesigned FORM tubeset, Shimano Direct Mount front derailleur mount, and BB92 bottom bracket shell.

Technology:

Form Carbon:
• Our experience developing custom alloy tubesets over the last decade has been invaluable in perfecting our FORM™ carbon frames.
• Using only top quality carbon fiber and partnering with the best carbon specialists in the world, Rocky Mountain engineers, designs, and tests all of our carbon frames in house. Our carbon frames feature monocoque construction which is stronger than a tube-to-tube or lugged design and which also allows us to keep the weight extremely low.
• We choose different carbon layups and weaves to fine tune the ride for different applications. For instance, we use 24 ton modulus carbon for Altitude RSL and Vertex RSL 50 and RSL 70 and 40 ton carbon for the Vertex RSL Team.
• We were able to optimize the ride quality of Vertex RSL through our FORM Carbon design process. By carefully selecting the modulus and layup of the frame, we created a super light and stiff ride in an aesthetically beautiful package.

• 18 years of global competition, from medals at the Olympics and World Cup victories to stage races of epic proportions, the Vertex clearly stands above the rest. This year, a completely new, full carbon Vertex RSL has taken another huge leap forward.
• Featuring Race Tuned Compact (RTC ) geometry, an evolution that stems from our experience. Rip it up with superior handling XC race geometry. Equipped with a cockpit feel and a frame stiffer and lighter than ever, the Vertex is clearly tuned for speed.
